Sherie and Darryl first locked eyes at work and instantly fell for each other. As Darryl himself put it, Sherie was the new “bomshell in the office” and despite friends’ warnings about office relationships, he plucked up the courage and asked Sherie out on a date.. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Which brings us to today.

Sherie asked me to be their Wedding Videographer and I was delighted to be a part of their fantastic wedding at Grafton Manor, Worcestershire. Having only spoken to Sherie on the phone, little did I know how much fun these two were actually going to be! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a couple so excited and giddy about getting married, their happiness floated through the air and infected everyone around. I felt like I’d known them for years, which made it all the more easy to blend in with their wonderful families and fun-loving friends. After all, as a filmmaker documenting someones most precious day, it is my goal to make the people in front of my camera feel as comfortable, relaxed and happy as possible..

Initially, Sherie and Darryl were adamant they wanted their wedding film to be in black and white. I don’t normally do this in my videos, but am always up for trying new things. So we shook hands on the idea.

However, as I started editing I couldn’t ignore the fact that their day was filled with such beautiful colours! The ivory and navy colour scheme worked wonderfully against the sunny spring backdrop of Grafton Manor, and the exquisite interior design of the hotel complimented the colour scheme in return. So we had a little chat and decided to leave the video in colour.

The suppliers

I always say it is very important for your wedding videographer and photographer to get along as you are both there for the same purpose – to capture those precious memories in the best way that you can, without being intrusive or intimidating. Having said that, working with Sherie & Darryl’s Birmingham based photographer Clive Blair was a treat. He was so chilled out and got some beautiful shots of the day!

The dazzling dress by Kenneth Winston. Sherie actually had the dress custom made for her, all accessories were shipped from the supplier in California for those gorgeous sleeves to be added for a more elegant touch. All purchased from Designs on You in Sutton Coldfield.
